You don't have to be perfect

Emotional Support Pup
Therapy Companion
Therapy Dog ~ in Training

Georgia, born July 12, 2025, is a gentle, attuned presence within our sessions, offering calm, connection, and quiet support to children and parents.

She is bred from the respected Red Gold Golden Retrievers program in the Kootenays, a breeding line connected to the Golden Retriever Club of BC for over 20 years. These Golden Retrievers are thoughtfully bred with a focus on health, temperament, and suitability for therapeutic and family environments - the qualities Georgia naturally brings into her work.

Georgia has completed her foundational training with Best Paw Forward Nanaimo Dog Training, including Beginning Matters (Level 1) and Intermediate Matters (Level 2). She is currently continuing her training in preparation for the Canadian Kennel Club’s Canine Good Neighbour (CGN) certification, with the goal of becoming officially CKC-sanctioned by September 2026.

In session, Georgia’s role is simple yet meaningful.

She notices when something feels hard.
She moves closer when comfort is needed.
She helps create a sense of safety, often before words are even found.

Animal-assisted support can help regulate the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and support connection in a way that feels accessible and non-threatening, especially for children.

Georgia offers this through her steady presence, meeting each child and family exactly where they are.

She does not lead the work~ she helps hold the space where the work can unfold.

Located in Nanaimo, Deeply Rooted offers connection-based, family-focused support, including animal-assisted therapy with Georgia, a Golden Retriever therapy dog in training.
