Considering a new perspective helps us find a way forward.

Working through challenges within organizations, communities, schools and families isn't always a clear path. There is competing priorities, difficult conversations and systems that feel overwhelming to navigate.

Deeply Rooted unique role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions and highlight themes that are complex. While collaboratively understanding the circumstances, considering the people involved and explore what meaningful support and next steps may be.

Experience + Approach

Grounded in experience, guided by relationships

Counsellor looking off into distance

My work has taken me through many different areas of child and family services, from supporting children and caregivers directly to working alongside professionals, and Indigenous agencies and community based organizations.

My experience includes delegated and preventative child and family practice, operational oversight, program and policy development, strategic planning and Indigenous-informed, community-based approaches.

I've worked within provincial systems while continuing to support children and families directly, and I understand how important it is to consider both the bigger picture and the individual experiences of the people involved.

I believe meaningful change begins with gathering, building trust and taking the time to understand what's really needed. Finding approaches that align for the people involved, honouring their strengths and creating opportunities for connection, growth and lasting support is foundational.

Bringing People Together

Every voice brings something valuable to the conversation.

Ronna has several years of gathering, facilitation and instructing experience, supporting conversations between children, youth, families, professionals and community partners.

These gatherings can look different depending on the people involved and the goals.

Circles and collaborative planning may support:

  • Youth goal setting and planning

  • Family dynamics and parenting arrangements

  • School meetings and educational planning

  • Interdisciplinary care team meetings

  • Complex case consultation and shared decision-making

  • Coordinating support between families, agencies and community services

There isn't always a simple answer or one clear path forward.

But when people have the opportunity to listen, reflect and understand one another, we can begin to find a way forward together.

"Ronna Kit's parent consulting work is truly exceptional."

"As a professional who regularly supports families myself, I refer many of them to Ronna and the feedback I consistently hear is overwhelmingly positive.

What sets Ronna apart is her remarkable ability to meet families exactly where they are, especially in the midst of challenging parenting moments. She brings a calm, compassionate presence that helps parents feel understood rather than judged, which is crucial when things feel overwhelming at home.

Ronna has a gift for helping parents set clear, respectful boundaries that actually work. She guides families in building structure and consistency in a way that feels doable and aligned with their values, rather than rigid or punitive.

At the heart of her work is a strong emphasis on connection first and you can see the difference this makes almost immediately. Ronna helps parents shift from reactive patterns into more thoughtful, connected responses, strengthening relationships while still addressing behaviour in meaningful ways."
